What is the Housing For All Scheme?







The Shelter for All programme was a government of India programme to provide housing for slum residents. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation of the Indian government introduced it.







The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is another name for this programme. It is for those who live in both urban and rural locations and meet specific criteria.







How to apply for PMAY Scheme?







To apply for the PMAY scheme, you can follow the step mentioned below:








  • I arrived to the PMAY's main page (pmaymis.gov.in)

  • On the top navigation bar, select the Citizenship Assessment option.

  • As needed, select the appropriate choice.

  • Fill up your Aadhar number and name.

  • The website for the application will be redirected to you. Fill out the application and save it.

  • You may later monitor the application's status on the main website.







Who are eligible for PMAY scheme?







Eligibility for PMAY scheme are mentioned below:








  • The beneficiary's maximum age is 70 years old.

  • The recipient's family should consist of a husband, wife, and unmarried children.

  • The beneficiary should not possess a Pucca House in any state of India, either in their own name or in the name of any family member.

  • If the beneficiary is from the LIG, the yearly income should be between 3 lakhs and 6 lakhs (Low Income Group).

  • In order to own the house, one adult female member of the family must be a member.







Is the PMAY scheme applicable to rural areas?







Yes, this scheme can be availed by people residing in rural areas. This can be availed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin scheme.
