Indira Gandhi Meerpur University, Rewari was established on September 7, 2013. The university is committed to actively working hard for the overall development of students' personalities, making them not only excellent professionals, but also good people with deep-rooted human values. The university campus is located in the town of Meerpur, about 10 kilometers from the headquarters of the Rewari district and about 300 kilometers from the state capital of Chandigarh. It has good rail and road services. It covers approximately 100 acres of land in a well-designed lush green area with state-of-the-art architecture. Before it existed as an independent state university, it was the Indira Gandhi Regional Graduate Center of Maharishi Dayanand University in Rotak, which was established on October 3, 1988.
